Accounting & HR Manager (Part-Time)

As our part-time Accounting & HR Manager (20 hours/week with full benefits), you’ll be responsible for balancing a range of finance and people-related tasks. We expect you to have a natural ability to pivot between these two focus areas in an effort to support your colleagues in NY and the finance team in our Stockholm HQ office.

In this role you will:

  • Liaise closely with colleagues in NY and with the finance team in our Stockholm HQ office
  • Actively provide financial business support and own administrative processes within the organization
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance function in NY, including recording, filing, analyzing, report generation, etc.
  • Maintain daily cash flow management & projections
  • Process payroll and manage benefits with Justworks (timesheets, expense reports, benefits)
  • Issue customer invoices, receive and scan supplier invoices, resolve accounts payable and receivable issues or queries
  • Manage monthly credit card activity and input expenses into our accounting software system
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as well as forecasts and related work
  • Maintain accounting documents and records, ensuring all files are up to date
  • Assist in financial audits
  • Assist and coordinate with colleagues to prepare budget
  • Assist finance team members in interactions with auditors, banks, tax authorities and insurance companies
  • Manage the new hire process: provide timely and accurate communication to candidates and internal stakeholders; schedule interviews with candidates and internal stakeholders; solicit and circulate timely interview feedback
  • Facilitate decision and new hire offer process with hiring managers
  • Set up new employees in Justworks
  • Schedule and facilitate new employee on-boarding sessions
  • Act as first line of questions from employees regarding benefits; liaise with Justworks when questions need to be escalated
  • Identify opportunities for improvements for workflows and processes
  • Day-to-day operational duties and special projects as needed

We want you to have:

  • 3+ years of work experience in either a Bookkeeping or Accounting function. Candidates with previous HR experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong financial system skills including general ledger management, budgeting, and reporting
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Google Docs & Spreadsheets, and accounting software
  • Superior attention to detail, research, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Stellar communications skills, both in-person and in writing
  • Positive attitude, and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential information
  • Solution mindset with the ability to make independent decisions regarding planning, organizing, and scheduling work
  • Previous experience working in a creative environment a big plus
